Analysis of Industrial Formwork Systems Supply Chain Using Value Stream Mapping

Reinforced concrete (RC) is used as the primary structural material in almost all construction projects worldwide, from infrastructure to building projects. Since formwork an essential part of RC supply chain, it has a significant impact on project performance. In industrial systems roles and responsibilities main stakeholders (e.g., engineer, contractor, fabricator) at various phases can be represented by different chain configurations (SCCs). The objectives this study are identify SCCs for Turkish industry analyze identified using value stream mapping (VSM) method, which effective major lean tool identifying eliminating waste. For purpose, first, three have been identified, predominantly Turkey. Then, these were analyzed through VSM method ongoing where 500 m2 wall would real-life case study. analysis results indicated that SCC with early involvement fabricator (FWF) had higher performance than other SCCs, consistent approach.
